Bulb&Me

Bulb&Me is a lighting-interactive scenography that plays with the word itself. On the one hand the bulb (as in “light bulb”) and on the other hand bulb as subway organs of nutrient storage (like some foods in botany, hair in anatomy…).

A scenic space (conventional or not) where movement is the source of richness and nutrients of the scenography, which reacts by modulating the intensity of light and sound of the space.

We work with the idea that moving bodies generate energy and we visualize this energy through light. The movement of the dancers/users, in the stage/installation space, affects the light intensity of the bulbs and modulates the sound.

Bulb&Me is a dual proposal, as it can be understood as an interactive installation and/or worked as a scenic proposal with specific working groups.

Bulb&Me is a project open to work with many types of audiences and groups. The light bulb scenography will always be the same but it will be the people who interact with it that will give a different shape to the show (always starting from the same guidelines and a continuous work of body/movement of the choreographer Irina Martinez).

Being able to visualize movement in relation to the intensity of light or the modulation of sound is a very clean way to become aware of one’s body, movement, rhythm… both for the performer and the observer; a different way of observing and approaching the language of dance.

A work of body and movement with which to express oneself, to convey emotions, to experiment from an unusual context.
